Attachment Style Test — Free, No Sign-Up

How you behave when you get close to somebody — how much reassurance you need, and how comfortable you are depending on another person. Twelve questions, scored on the two dimensions attachment research actually uses: anxiety and avoidance.

Nothing is stored and no account is needed. Your answers are scored and the result is shown to you — that is the whole transaction. This is a description of a pattern, not a diagnosis, and it is not a clinical instrument.

The four styles

Secure. Comfortable being close and comfortable being apart. Roughly half of people.

Anxious. Attuned to a partner’s mood, and quick to read distance into silence.

Avoidant. Independent by default; makes room when a relationship gets intense.

Disorganised. Wants closeness and braces against it at the same time.

The names are the four corners of two sliding scales, not four boxes people fall into cleanly. Most people sit somewhere between, which is why the result below shows both scores and not only the label.
