How often should a long-distance arranged match talk?

Find the overlap

Every time gap has a window. London–India has a wide one: evening in India is afternoon in London. Toronto–India has a narrow one: early morning in Canada is evening in India. California–India barely has one: late night on one side or very early on the other. Find your window, protect it, and stop apologising for it.

Talk in the right sizes

A daily message thread for the small things — what you did, what you ate, the photo of the dog — and two or three real calls a week for the conversations that matter, with video. Long calls every night burn out within a month. Continuity matters more than volume.

Involve the parents on purpose

Parents on both sides want to follow along, and putting them on every call kills the call. Give them a rhythm: a weekly update, one call a fortnight with everyone, and the family circle so they can see the shortlist and comment at their own hour. Say the hard things early
